EXPERTISATION COMMITTEE RULES

Belgian Congo Study Circle Expertising Committee

The committee is now composed of :

Charles Henuzet (B), Abbe Gaston Gudenkauf (B), Luc Van der Maercken (B), Philippe Lindekens(B), Emile Hoorens(B) and Norman Clowes(UK)

When the committee's members are NOT in agreement about an item from the 1886 to 1922 period, the final decision will be made by the Abbe Gudenkauf. We never issue certificates for forgeries - the committee will send you the expertiser's comments without a certificate.

Please only send stamps or covers for which a certificate is useful, such as

the first two issues - 1886 / 1887 Leopold II (stamps, "Colis postaux" surcharges, cancellations and covers)

bullet

MOLS - Congo Free State (proofs, imperforates or special perforations, scarce cancellations, postal cards, covers, and special postage rate items)

bullet

Mols overprinted "CONGO BELGE"

bullet

Mols 1910-1922 : overprint varieties, scarce cancellations, imperforates, proofs

bullet

post Mols issues : only overprint varieties, proofs, imperforates, special covers(cancellations, censor tapes, overprinted stamps on covers)

bullet

Katanga : only varieties of overprinted stamps

Without certificates, we can always provide details about rarity, postage rates and other matters. Postage will be charged for such enquiries

It is a members responsibility to insure material in transit for expertisation. Goods received by the Expert Committee are insured by the Study Circle whilst in its possession and when being returned to the owner.

All BCSC members are entitled to 2 free certificates per year (but the member must always pay the postage).

A reduction of 20% on the total fees (except postage) will be given for 10 or more certificates per sending.
