PHILATELIC SOCIETY BELGIAN CONGO STUDY CIRCLE (B.C.S.C.)
The Study Circle was founded as a British society in 1951/2 but its membership has expanded and is now international with particular strength from membership in Belgium, USA and the U.K. All collectors of Belgian Congo, Ruanda-Urundi, their Postal History and subsequent States are welcome. The present membership ranges from specialists in particular fields to those whose present ambition is very modest.

Because the membership is so widespread there are only occasional formal meetings each year. Most recently these have been held in the U.K. and Belgium.
Published quarterly each year. Every effort is made to include articles and oddments of interest and value to members.
Members resident in :
(or
£8*,
see below) *As a number of ‘Rest of the World’ overseas members have chosen to receive their Bulletins and Auction lists electronically, direct from the Bulletin Editor - it was proposed and accepted that those taking this option will in future have their subscription brought in line with local U.K. members at £8. This will take effect as from 1st January 2006.
At the present time postal auction sales are held four times a year and details are distributed with the Bulletin. It is anticipated that this method and frequency will continue into the foreseeable future.
U.K. and Belgian members onlyA packet is circulated amongst members on a ‘one off‘ basis. Packet Secretary Hal Hoyte (UK) and Charles Henuzet (Belgium) organise this and should be contacted direct with material for circulation and by those wishing to be recipients of the ‘packet’.
The Study Circle has an Expert Committee which is prepared to identify and authenticate Belgian Congo and Ruanda Urundi stamps, postal stationery and items of postal history. In the case of the latter it will provide what information it can. Precise details of the service available are obtainable from Philippe Lindekens. Nominal charges are made.
The Circle has available a substantial library of books and periodicals and for a small charge will provide members with photocopies. Terms of copying and a list of books available on loan are available from the librarian.
